Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park features one of the largest known limestone caverns in the northwest. You can explore these spectacular limestone caverns in safety with your family, including small children. The caverns have been well explored and lit and there aren’t any dangerous portions to worry about.

The caverns features amazing formations of stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and helictites. The caverns are naturally air-conditioned and are comfortable any time of year.

Access to the caverns are only available through guided tours. Summer tour season starts May 1 and goes through September 30. The hike takes about two hours as you cover about two miles of the cave system. You can just purchase tickets on arrival; no reservations are needed for tours. The current prices for a tour are $12 per adult (those 12 and up), $5 for children (ages 6-11), and free for those 5 and younger.

If you visit in December, you can experience a special candlelight tour of the caverns.

Those visiting in an RV can take advantage of 40 campsites, which can be reserved ahead of time. The park encompasses a further 3,015 acres besides the caverns, which includes hiking trails and other outdoor activities. The park has a state-of-the-art visitor center, interpretive displays, a gift shop, food and beverage concessions, and an amphitheater.
